My Country tis of Thee

My Country tis of Thee

My country is hot
My country is grand, with beautiful beaches and golden sand. Busy workers try to bargain with customers, the men cheering to the sound of soccer.
The smell of fried foods fills the air with its exotic tastes in your mouth to give your tongue a flare.
Sand storms sweep peoples feet as they walk up and down the street.
To a store, or a house, or school, or a beach. By foot or car however may they reach?
My country is small but full of pride, and its loud festive music fills the night.
Wherever I go wherever I may be I will never forget my country, Haiti.

The Kampong

The Kampong
My experience at the botanicals was alright. It was very hot and humid. Besides the heat I had a fun time. I saw a snake, and had a mini tour of the garden on how it was thought up, who decided to bring Asian culture into the garden, and how students from different colleges come to the garden for study on plant life. The garden had a path that lead to a cliff that over looked the ocean. There were many holes in the ground which were homes to spiders. I saw an iguana, there were many dragon flies. There was a pool there called the old pool. The botanical garden used to be a home to it founder but after his death his family de3cided to turn it to a garden. At first they didn’t allow people to visit the garden. It was a private area. When people started to become curious about what in there, the garden finally let its gates open for tourists, college’s camps and other group organizations.
